Artwork Copies

Scanning or photography of original paintings, artworks or photographic prints to produce digital images for catalogues, publishing and limited edition printing. We've worked with artists, galleries and public organisations to produce hundreds of fine art copies, always with particular emphasis on colour accuracy and reproduction quality. Limited and open edition giclée prints can then be produced in the size you choose. Photographic reproduction of artworks starts at $145.00.

What are Giclée Prints?

The giclée (pronounced 'zhee-clay') printmaking process has been in existence for around 25 years and was originally developed in America. The word ‘giclée’ describes 'the spraying of paint' involved in plate-less printing to create fine art prints. Employing up to an 11-colour process this state-of-the-art technology can produce consistent and affordable prints of the highest quality. A giclée print is simply the closest duplication of an original artwork that is technically possible. These prints may be limited edition and produced on a variety of media such as watercolor papers and canvas.

The advantages of giclée reproductions include:

  • order prints as needed without large up-front obligations
  • low cost for short runs such as limited editions
  • unparalleled print quality
  • highly accurate colour reproduction
  • light fast prints
  • matte and frame one reproduction as a display piece, then order more as requests come in

Fine Art Printmaking

At Gusha Pro we have the capacity to produce hundreds of prints daily. Each combination of printer, ink and substrate has been custom profiled (colour managed) enabling us to control the final colour fidelity of each print. Our printers are regularly calibrated to ensure their continued repeatability and print quality. It is always important when choosing a printmaker that you work with people that can produce the same print year after year.

With the Epson HDR inkset we carry out large format printing with a light fastness of up to 200 years. This state of the art giclée printing equipment can reproduce a superb range of colour, life-like skin tones and the finest details. In building on the advances introduced with the Epson UltraChrome K3 ink with vivid magenta, Epson has engineered the UltraChrome HDR (High Dynamic Range) pigment ink technology. While still retaining its key features, such as three-level black ink for superb grey balance, and smooth tonal gradations from shadow to highlight, UltraChrome HDR comprises several new important innovations that contribute to dramatically enhanced print and colour quality. One of the most significant advantages of the HDR inkset is the inclusion of Orange and Green inks, which bring about dramatic expansion in the colour gamut, especially in the bright /vivid green to yellow, and yellow to red ranges. Furthermore, with the new orange ink, the Epson HDR ink technology delivers a major reduction in image grain that is often evident in skin tone reproductions.
